  1. oh well... I will do my best to come and take it off you next year well done again.
  2. Well done Pete, Rob, Jade and although painful to say... well done Mick ! congrats to all competitors and to the Tanilba committee.
  3. I am in Brisbane Monday to Friday most weeks. Happy to take a look at your rudders if still an issue? cheers, John.
  4. sorry Pedro, would love to have come and help you drink that.. could not get away unfortunately. Next year
  5. Glad you are confident, should be fun
  6. Happy enough to race you cat, sloop or supersloop.. especially for the free month marina berth, for the seawind 1000 I am assuming? You better get in some practice before the Nats Race history for ZAX is not too bad, 1st Cat rigged National champ last year sailed by Bundy, 1st supersloop 2 years in a row prior to that, 1st sloop National champ before that and National champ cat the year prior. So seems this year.. National Champ Supersloop again, sorry Mick, you are unlikely to win
  7. I might like to join in on that bet.. ready for some competition on the supersloop Mick?
  8. Have not been reading the forums much lately, but have to comment on Pointed Reply's note. I guess you mean ZAX when you talk about a certain Super Sloop furling a jib. There is no rule against that in any class of sailing boat that I know of. What next, get upset when someone has a trapese on a supersloop and does not use it ? cheers...
  9. my thought is that there should not be any difference in the yardstick between the old and newer boats, all the boats have to comply with the same class rules i.e. an old boat can still use one of the newer sails and the same minimum weight applies (which has never changed). fiddling with the yardsticks within the same class which is under the same rules is just not appropriate. You dont have different yardsticks for old and new paper tigers nor for old and new windrushes so far as I know so why do this with maricats ? as yet, the newer sails have not proven to be quicker although they do a
  10. Well done Donna, great effort in a tough fleet ! Was alot of fun watching the series as a change to competing in it. The coloured sails really make a difference to spectators.
  11. why can't anyone make comments on this that have an interest in Maricats? Seems sort of an unusual request to limit that ? I would be interested in comments on the changes whether from association members or not. Preferably from those that do not have a financial interest in the rule changes.... although not wanting to limit that either. agree with knobblyoldjimbo on allowing more than one block hanger to reduce costs.

  13. As I have said, rather sail cat than be stuffed about with new rules on the sloop. Thanks anyway !
  14. glad your boat is ok... what about others. my understanding is that since the AGM is in the middle of the championships, if the new rules are voted in they could take effect from that point forward. Tony has already said that my setup will not be legal since he thinks its important to add shackles now to the bridle. So half way through the series I would have an illegal boat. Does not sound fun to me. When you say they come into effect next season, what exact start date is that?
