  1. I have sailed all the above boats and all are good for cruising. Currently I have a Nacra 350 that is small but I take it out with my tow kids and it has no issues at all even in a blow. Looks modern and goes well for a little boat. Feels like a bigger boat. I personally (don't hold this against me) like the Hobie Getaway. I have sailed on often and like the size, the wings for comfort and the space for the kids to get around on it. OK. It is not a speed demon in anyway, but it files a hull easily, I couldn't nosedive it nor capsize it in a blow. It is heavy to handle on the beach which is a c
  2. That is great news. I have only sailed on once and absolutely loved it. They were quite popular back in the 80's and very fast.
  3. Lock and Load. I am now the owner of a Nacra 350. The pocket rocket. Picking it up tomorrow from Bundaberg. The owner is meeting me about half way which is awesome of him.
  4. I am looking for a small Nacra to take the tin lids sailing in SEQ. A Sirocco with a jib would do fine. Please let me know if there is anyone out there looking to sell a small Nacra. Thanks. MSC
  5. That's my old boat. The sails are class legal and she is quick. Do you still have the old sails????
  6. What are the most popular classes in SEQ? I am moving up there over Christmas so will have a look at getting back into it after years and years. MC
  7. Sold Darcy. Basically the same day I sold it.
  8. I am moving up there in December and looking forward to sailing on the lake. It is a magic spot. Anyone wanting a skipper or a crew, I will be around.
  9. I am selling my foam Windrush as I am moving interstate and have no place to keep it there. It is very light and sails like a dream. Mylar sails and an unregistered but fantastic trailer with a sailbox and spare wheel. The jib and main sheets would need replacing in a year or so but all blocks are good. I am looking for $2k for it. Located in Hunter Valley matt@towerestate.com

  11. And hopefully another 2 on the way. Why do 100m sprinters not have to run everyday for 10 days in a row and then drop their worst result and the one with the least points gets the medal? Just saying.
  12. What if we don't eat ice cream? Just kidding. Thanks. I will have a look at it when I am home in daylight. Thanks guys.
  13. Did the bloke who invented the mechanism for the Windy rudders have a Phd in complication? My port side one is perfect and runs brilliantly. So does the port one but the tiller sits way too low. Any suggestions? It works brilliantly except that it is about 4 inches too low. MC
  14. I may be interested in sailing on the Lake. Maybe.
  15. There was a Maricat down at Balmoral a year or so ago and he filled both hulls with expanding foam. Was a tad heavy but seemed to sail well. He said it was 4 cans per hull.
  16. The leak could be from the inspection port on the deck or one of the deck panels needs re-gluing. While sailing the boat is pressurised and will suck in water from anywhere.
  17. The boat is designed to take pressure from the outside and not the inside so I would never put water inside any hull. It will weaken it greatly. Just use the vacuum or a pump. Works every time without fail. Use very soapy water or as Darcy says, listen for it as well. But the soapy water will find all of them.
  18. And here is another. http://www.exmouthyachtclub.org/Capsizing.htm
  19. Don't fill it with water. The boat will explode. Reverse your vacuum and blow air into the hulls through the bog open hatch and leave the bung out as well. Then use soapy water all over the hulls and where bubbles for you have a leak.
  20. rudder Here is a link to what they look like http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gerroa/boats-jet-skis/windrush-catamaran-14ft/354580659#
  21. They are available for the maricat. Ask Brisbane Catamaran Centre if you want new ones or you can make them from plywood easily. I am sure that you would be able to find a boat with them on and just draw an outline and use marine ply.
  22. I also like the Spam in a can. What is that about? There is a restaurant in the US that is a Spam specialist.
