First time out in 15+ knots

I'm only new to sailing and have only had the Maricat out four times. We took it out onto Morton Bay from Victoria Point on Sunday arvo and the wind was around 15 knots.

What a hoot! Had the "best" fun we've had in ages. My two kids (15 and 11)were on board with me, and we all came away with smiles.

Being new to sailing it took a few goes before we worked out the right procedure to rig the boat, and we've got that down to about 15 minutes. After yesterdays efforts though, we've decided its best to leave hoisting the mainsail until the boats on the water. Until now we've been fulling rigging the boat then rolling it down to the water on the cat rollers.

Yesterday though with a 15 knot easterly wind blowing over a North facing boat ramp made it a tad emabarrising getting the boat down the ramp into the water.

So much fun, so little cost! What a hoot.

Cheers

Barry
