Helter Skelter
Hi Rodney, Interesting question first offical race of the season is an alternate course on September 23rd. When do we actually start sailing? closer to the middle of october when the water starts to warm up a little bit more. The ACT Catamaran Championship is on the weekend 28/29 October. Not sure about notices of race for any of these, althought the sailing calendar was published in the YMCA's August newsletter. Don't think the 06/07 season calendar has yet been posted to there website. I can email you a copy of the newsletter if that is any help to you See you on the water once the ice has broken Cheers, NIck
Pointed Reply
The ACT Multihull Regatta date was what I was after. PR will be there. It would be good to encourage some of the coastal Maricatters to come to Canberra. Last year there was a bunch of Paper Tigers, plus Maricats and Hobies and some Bigger cats. It would be good to have a Maricat Division.
Helter Skelter
I couldn't agree more. So to all my fellow maricat sailors how about coming down and joining PR and the YMCA sailors for the ACT Catamaran Championships on the 28/29 October? Would be great to see a large Maricat fleet on the water before the Nationals

Pointed Reply
Nick, what is the go with the interclub regatta this weekend (14/15th). Is it open to visitors? Are any of you sailing? I was going to go to Albury but it only has 18% water !!
Helter Skelter
Hi Rodney, This weekend there are two races. The normal Saturday afternoon YMCASC (2pm start) race and the normal Sunday afternoon CYC race, combined these are the interclub regatta. The Canberra Yacht Club are running the races so there should be a NOR on their website. I am only sailing saturday due to other commitments on sunday, sounds like a lot of people will be sailing both days though. Visitors are always welcome, the more the merrier. Cheers, Nick

Helter Skelter
Hi Rodney, Happy New Year. Shame you couldn't make it up to the Nationals. More than likely I will be sailing along with the other 14ft cats from the YMCA fleet. Last year we rigged and lauched down at the CYC. Easier to register etc. they have plenty of good grassed area for rigging and launching Cheers, Nick
Pointed Reply
We may come over for the ACT Chief Minister's regatta. I'm not sure about the super crew but he is keen to erase the memory of being beaten by Helter Skelter in the last Lake Bearly Drifting "race". Pointed Reply
Great weather and a good 15-20 knot breeze for the regatta today with a mixed fleet of about 50 boats in seven divisions. Unfortunately the three Maricat SS were beaten by two Hobie Turbos.
