Pointed Reply
We await our President, but check the posts further down. Should be a busy few days for RQYS. I see there will be Flying Dutchman, Corsair, Impulse, Nacra and Maricat nationals.
ZAX
There is no notice of race to come from me for this one. We race under the Notice of Race from the Nacras since they are the organising authority. The difference is that the maricats First heat is on Tuesday 2nd and last race on Friday 5th January. Effectively we race as an additional division with the Nacra's. Mike had earlier volunteered to follow details of this up with Warren so thats it.. just go there unless Mick has further details to add ? cheers ! ZAX
Thanks Mick, Looking forward to seeing you with your new boat at the Nationals.. not promising to give you a flogging since you beat me easily with your old boat last time we met. Will be trying though Main thing is to Not let a Queenslander win.. Go the Blues !
Humungus
No worries John, I am worried that I won't have enough time on the new boat to tune her. It is going to be interesting. It's not the queenslanders I am conserned about. It's a certain sailor from WA. He sails once a year and still beats me. I know there will be at lease two from WA. I hope QLD can do a lot better than that.
dood
Will be one from Queensland on an old boat. And I do not know which division to sail in. Cat rigged or sloop rigged with otpional Trapize. And with a new sail on the boat. So can you tell me what class i should sail in.
xmatelot
one up, or two up??, doesn't that define the class ??.
Pointed Reply
Don't forget the best division..the two up Sloop !! We have been told there will be one start line. So all divisions sail together. Does this mean that the overall champion will be decided on Yardstick..if so, which one..VYC or Koonawarra ? ZAX
If you sail with main and jib alone then you sail in the super sloop division. If you sail with main and jib and take a crew then you sail in the sloop division. If you sail with just your new main sail and no jib then you would be in the cat division. Although all the maricat divisions will start together at the Nationals the points are still kept independant for each class. Since we start together it is possible to determine overall placing on yardsick but any prize for that would be at the discretion of the committee. We can calculate the overall placings for interest though using both or either type of yardstick. cheers !
