That is the full length of the stay only from end to end. The early MKI will be a fraction shorter as they are a fraction less on the beam. This will allow you to rake the mast back. If you have not had it back this far before then you will have to put another clue in the sail so you can still get the sheet tention. This is proved to be fast on a cat rigged. The sloop rigged may differ.
