korwich
Hi all The family wants to get me a sailing book for Xmas, I'm keen to get other sailors opinions on whats a good book to get re sail trimming and racing tactics. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one called "How to beat Mick (Humungus) in 3 easy lessons". Thanks guys Phil
Yeti2300
Catamaran Racing for the 90s by Rick White. Available on line through Amazon books. If that doesn't work then sabotage may be the only option.
stb-tack
Try substituting red cordial in his hip flask before he sails or a urine analysis after racing might sideline him, there must be something in the rules about drinking while in charge of a Mari 4.3, if not we should change the constitution so there is. See you 2moro guys. Seriously though, It does not need to be a book specific to cats. Sail trim is sail trim and it applies across all platforms, mast rotation aside, likewise tactics are fairly universal across platforms as well, Particularly if you are looking for a grounding in the disciplines. Some of the older books can be useful also, aerodynamics has not changed since the Benouli principle, the only changes have been in the type of material we use and the way we cut a sail to reduce stretch in any given direction over time.
