BarryK1200LT
Hi All, Where can I find information and an entry form for the upcoming Maricat Nationals at Port Stephens? Not certain I'll be able to get there, but theres a chance, so I'd like to find out the details. Cheers Barry
Pointed Reply
The NOR for the Maricats is basically the same as the NACRAs. A link can be found via the Maricat Website or the NACRAs.
BarryK1200LT
Thanks PR, The Maricat website only has a link to the Nacra association race info. Is it all being run by the Nacra association? or are the Maricats running there own races seperately? Are the entry fees any different for the Maricats? The link on the Maricat website doesn't really say much about the format, entry costs for the Maricat side of the Nationals. Cheers Barry
humungus2
The Nats are being run by the Nacras with limited assistace from the Maricats. There will be seperate trophies and divisions. The shirts will have both classes on them. The Tropies are suplied by te Nacras. The fees will be the same. The only hitch is you do need your Maricat Acc fees paid up to date. The contact for an Acc aplication form can be got from our web site. Brenton is our secretary. Of let me know and I will send you out a form by post. Mick 0419999785. Pointed Reply
Courses will be different to the NACRAs with a mix of triangles and windward returns, not just windward returns. All three divisions will sail. Cat, Sloop, Supersloop.

ZAX
seems fair. Sloop and supersloop have similiar characteristics. thanks for the info !
aura
Very interesting description of the sailing area on the Notice of Race as there is a very large sand bank right in the middle of the bay. Sometimes this is as shallow as about two feet. Is there any Maricat specific information available yet?
Pointed Reply
Maricats had a committee meeting at the Kembla Klassic. Keep a look out for a notice on the forum in the next few days.
REV YUKKA II
the area that we will be sailing in has hosted a number of cat class through out the years A class Tipan F18 nacra. i'm sure that they won't have us sailing in 2ft of water. if so there will be a lot of nacra's stuck out there before the maricats have to worry. course and starts will decided on under the direction of the maricat association. there maybe different rounding marks depending on numbers. the best way of cause to ensure that you get what you want is have plenty of boats on the water. last year the two classes of boat ran very well together. looking forward to the week of sailing and socialising REV YUKKAII.
