Pointed Reply
8 Maricats participated in the Kembla Klassic with some locals plus a few travellers from Tanilba, Canberra and Tumut. There were the usual suspects plus a couple of fresh faces. Foam sandwich boats out numbered older boats 5-3. Tony and Amie were lightning fast on their new hulls. Mick took the plastic wrapper off his new boat and slowly got better over the weekend, from back of the pack to a win in the last race. Scotty was brilliant on Saturday afternoon but was a bit slow this morning. Pointed Reply was consistantly erratic. This was a very well run regatta. The rigging and launching area was great. Free camping was available at the club. The club house and facilities are first class. The courses were triangles and windward returns and were set quickly. There were 21 14ft cats with Windies, Paper Tigers, Maricats and a Hobie. This regatta is well worth any Maricatter considering for next year. humungus2
I second that. The venue is great and the organization of the races was the best ever. Friendly people and a good feed. Top grade compertition between the classes. Well done Port Kembla.
