RodneyStevens
Just acquired a MkII and would like to know the nominal wire gauge and length of the mainstays and the forestays for a cat rig. The rig that came with the boat does not seem to allow any adjustment on the forestays is this correct. Thanks
RodneyStevens
Sorry I should have said shrouds not mainstays. Not an old salt yet.
darcy1945
Rod, 3/16" plastic coated wire. Forestays 5.5m, sidestays 5m, both measurements with adjusters in middle holes (if fitted). These measurements for race rig only (Max rake) Most important part of a Mari is the Dolphin Striker, if it is not tensioned correctly the rear beam will crack, if it breakes under load, both beams will break. Give me a call on 0243591729 for any advice on maintenance, repairs, rigging and tuning
RodneyStevens
Thanks Darcy I was told that this boat has been recently serviced by the Maricat Centre at Lemon Tree Passage and the Dolphin Striker correctly adjusted. Boat number 3515.
