darcy1945
Peter, you need to get out early and practise tacking with your new RRRig. Start your tack with good speed, rudders half over, weight at the back of the boat, when the boom crosses ease a little main, change sides, straighten the rudders (extremely important), sheet on with weight still at rear until moving and then move forward to shrouds. Do this 20 times, if you blow 1 start the count again.
Dr Peter
Winter series on hold at Yarrawonga Ouch - They've dropped the water level of Lake Mulwala. I'll have to test sail elsewhere.
darcy1945
I agree with Jimbo (Ocasionally), Cat rig is the strongest, and to me the best, (less stress on hulls, less bits to break, finish more races, survive stronger conditions), the bridle causes a twisting stress on the hulls which in time will crack the hull deck join just in front of the front beam (we have had at least 6 of this type of repair to MPASC boats).
