cruiser
There was a getaway in Rocky for sale some time ago, don't know if it was sold or not. Like the idea of the wings for leisure sailing!!
Remo
Get a Hobie 17, use the wings for leisure then take them off when stoking the fire!! Cat rig or sloop rig.. its got everything. Worth a shot- we need more 17's around the place!
Loose Change
For leisure sailing the Getaway is brilliant, it's big, has plenty of bouyancy, will carry six adults comfortably and most imprtantly it has twin Eskies to keep ya tinnies cold. It's a very pleasant and forgiving boat to sail, the only thing that I would rate on the minus side is it's weight, it tips the scales at about 377 lbs. The boomless mainsail is a bonus as you don't get hit on the head by a boom, the furling jib is great for quickly reducing sail area should you need to do that. I once towed a broken down stink boat for about six or seven kilometres with mine which is abit of a reversal to whar normally happens. The Wave is a great little boat if you are going to be mainly sailing on your own or with kids. Both are nearly bullet proof in terms of construction strength. Yeah, I'd buy another one ... magneticsailor
I like the getaway because of the large tramp area. I like the idea of passengers being able to laze around when it's calm.
