darcy1945 Posted February 29, 2008 Report Share Posted February 29, 2008 Wet Ears, you are certainly getting plenty of feedback, ( BUT THERE IS MORE), My advice is a windrush, $1000 should buy an average (Not race ready) boat on a reg trlr. I sail a 4.3 Mari and a 5.8 Nacra, Windies are ,tough, easy to rig, (10 min single handed), have more bouyancy than the other 14s, and parts are cheaper, (Manufacturer in Perth is very helpfull), and your kids will be able to sail on their own. I do most of the repairs on the 14s in our club (Mannering Park) with fleets up to 25 club boats, and have found the windies to be the most durable and cheapest to repair.
