Where are you staying, Phil?

Peter

Don't quite know yet Dr Pete, I'm unsure of whether the fam is coming with me or am I going it alone.

If I'm by myself maybe just camp in the back of the ute? or a one bed donger in a caravan park close by? I'll ask the war office whats happening with this trip, am I on my own to have fun, or is my family going to come with me and spoil my weekend? (not really just kidding about them spoiling my weekend) (I know she has spies and informers).

Why do you ask chocolate lips?

The war office has just advised me that the kids and her will be coming with me, so no camping at the club I guess.

Maricat States, Paper Tiger traveller series, and both part of the 14' cat traveller series. Solidarnosc, comrades!

Accomodation

My pick this year: Red Cedars Motel: http://www.stayatgreenleigh.com.au/ Reasonable rates, located on northern outskirts 20min from sailing club, 10min from dinner at Dickson.

Hoping its an upgrade on last year's pick, the cheapest anywhere, at Crestview, Queanbeyan. About 20 minutes drive to the YMCA club. A very basic donger/caravan/shed thing with limited parking. http://www.canberracaravanpark.com.au/rates.html

Previous tried the Canberra Carotel. Not great, or close. http://www.carotel.com.au/bungalows.asp#familybungalows.

The Hotel Formula1 is also cheap, and was reviewed with; "you get what you pay for". http://www.hotelformule1.com/gb/booking/hotels-list.shtml

Saturday night

Was great having dinner with a big crew of sailors on the saturday night. Although the club did put on a BBQ, "Tradies" (the Tradesman Union Club, Dickson) was good. Also a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet upstairs on Woolley St, Dickson, was a great feed.

Darcy, I will give you a ring later this week.Hope Brenton going? Looking forward to catching up with Dr Peter and the boys sailing Canberra.

Looking at accommodation now, I have stayed at Belconnen Inn when working in Canberra as good location, but I just checked rates and gone up too expensive.

Canberra is expensive to stay now days. Rates quoted online maybe negotiated if couple of rooms its good there as it adjoins a club for cheap meals and food.

Its amazing the difference a company credit card makes to your choice of accommodation compared to stumping up the money yourself!

So I'm still looking for something for the bride to be comfortable in whilst I'm out playing.
