spike
The first event of the SEQ Traveller Series starts on the 24th of September at the Humpybash Regatta, Humpybong Sailing Club. The series will be held over 10 regattas between Clarence River and Hervey Bay during the 2011-12. We have secured sponsorship for the series with over $5000 of prizes on offer. Entry into the series is free, but you must sail a “class legal” NACRA and be a current member of the Queensland or New South Wales NACRA Association. The Series is designed to encourage NACRA’s to attend a number of open regattas. Results for the traveller series will be taken from final results for each of the races of the nominated regattas. The activities of the series will not interfere with the normal running of the nominated regatta’s. There are two competitions; the first is for major overall prizes (including a $2000 shopping voucher at Brisbane Catamaran Center) this will be determined by a raffle draw at the end of the season. To get tickets in raffle draw you must compete in at least 25% of the nominated races for the season. The number of tickets you get will depend on where you finished in relation to other NACRA’s in your division for the nominated race. If there were 10 NACRA’s in your division, and you were the first NACRA on corrected time, you will receive 10 tickets in the major prize draw. The more boats that attend - the better you place - the more chance you have of winning. Tickets will be allocated per skipper not boat. The second competition will be a straight points one. If more than 5 boats in your class register for the series you will be scored as a separate class (if not you will be in a misc. class). Your best 60% results will be used. Trophies and prizes will be awarded from places 1 to 3 in each class. The series is a great way to get out and experience other clubs and enjoy some great Nacra class racing. The information flyer, membership form and Traveller series entry form are all posted on the Qld Nacra Association Forum (http://forum.nacra.asn.au)
