Coastdweller
I have a Maricat 4.1 which came with used beach rudders and a set of brand new wooden blade type rudders. We have been using the beach rudders because our launch point is tidal and shallow. I currently have to lower the rudder, thread a stainless steel bolt and wingnut through it before launch. I sailed a freinds cat years ago and it had a lever type system for raising and lowering the rudders, Do these systems still exist and can they be purchased somewhere or is there someone with a homebuilt system that works that I could adapt to my maricat? Thanks
Dr Peter
My Mark 1 has ropes and horncleats. The rudders don't kick up. My Mark 2 has lock down levers. The rudders kick up. Peter
Pointed Reply
There are a number of Maricats sailing out of Batemans Bay and Coila so you could go and have a look. Bridgehugger (Rob) from BBay is a good contact. Darcy1945 from Mannering Park has all the second hand bits that you will need. PS: Maricats are either 4.0 or 4.3.............did they chop a bit off yours !!
