adrianbow
Hi, I want to replace both hulls on my Hobie 16. I have removed all the bolts that hold the trampoline frame to the posts. 3 of the 4 corner brackets came off after some work but one will not budge. I have put a car jack under it. Hit it with a hammer. Heated it with a propane torch and cooled down the post. Put Locktite "Unfreeze" down the edges but all to no avail. When I use the car jack now, it starts to pull the post out of the hull. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Remo
Throw it out with the hulls and purchase a second hand rear beam from someone like Darcy. Chances are he will have one. I have had the same problem with a few old hobies and found they were glued. Extremely hard to undo!! Good luck.
darcy1945
Just cut the problem one off (I have had to do this on occasion) and replace it, I have 2nd hand corner castings $25 ea (except stbd front) Castings are the same on 14s if you find a wreck (there are plenty around) 0243591729.
