Dr Peter
On the Maricat forum people will know I had some boat trailer issues recently. Since then, a Yarrawonga YC member has given me a 14 foot trailer for nothing. Problem is - its a PT trailer - that is it supports the boat at the beam. I'm sure people on this forum know what I mean. I am very reluctant to chop the boat up to suit my Mari. Does anyone have a suitable swap? tonyquoll
maybe: I have an old trailer that was made for an "Escape Cat". It supported the boat on rollers under the hull, and had a box in the middle. Currently it is partly disassembled, with some new parts ready to go on and some fancy sketches showing how it could be a PT trailer one day. It's possibly $100 in materials and a couple of days work for us to build. It's been sitting there waiting for about it for about a year now... Perhaps I could trade it in on your PT trailer, and pay the difference in value? What width is a Maricat between the insides of the hulls? I could provide an estimate of how much work it would need to be adapted. I'm interested in a PT trailer for 3038 "the Mystery Tiger", which currently rides 2-up with 2901 "Tigerdelic" on my box trailer. We're getting a bit tired of lifting them off each week! Dr Peter
I have enough bits of boat trailers to start my own project here. Don't really need another project. Peter
Paul124ac
Petey, I've got a shed load of bits and the tools required for making an X fit a Y, you turn up and we'll make it fit. I hate seeing someone suffer, especially a good bloke like yourself, we'll sort something out.
Dr Peter
Thanks Paul You are a good man - I felt really bad seeing your Castle 650 damage the littoral environment at Tallangatta last weekend. Fortunately red wine helped me get over it. Lucky for you my rear commodore is a religious man and thought he he might get some credit from the God Botherers so he helped you out. How should we do this trailer fix? Peter
