notonyournelly
Hi all, me and my brother are itching to get onto the water in a boat that can take two adults and doesn't mind some rough conditions. We dont plan to race it at the moment, so hull condition is more important than new sails. Have raced hobie 16's in the past and are looking for something similar, or larger. Just missed a nacra 5.8 in auction and was gutted, we dont have the biggest budget, but please let me know if anything comes up. We are located in Melbourne, and are happy to drive a couple of hundred k's, or freight with enough detailed photos
darcy1945
The H18 is a good allround cat, race/cruise, the furling headsail is a big plus if you are cruising or sailing without company/club rescue facilities. You would get a reasonable boat within your budget, beware of soft spots and beam corrosion.
tornado
A little more than $3500, however if it is still for sale, make an offer and see if they will take it (even $3500) If it is the boat I know, they are desperate to get rid of it. http://www.ausf18.org.au/bb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1146&sid=eb6289fd7384ef0a9871bc86aba6055d

tornado
What club are you looking to race at. If it is on Westernport, then A H16 might be a better buy if you plan to race in the future. There are a few at Somers.
Remo
Tornado....., Lisa sold this boat a long time ago. A bloke on here is now selling it for $6k, but cannot make up his mind!
Limousine
Keep saving and keep looking until u get a 5.8 - they are a far superior boat for all the right reasons - it must have a bridle foil with matching jib but the hull number doesn't matter - beyond 1550 they are a bit lighter but I have crewed and have beaten boats beyond 1650 with an older boat (good sails).
