Mako
Can someone who races a Nacra 4.5 give me some idea of what performance the boat has. I race a Maricat with my 10 year old son but have quite a lot of cat racing experince, I am racing the Maricat due to the club where we sail do not allow anything longer thank 14 feet. I am thinking of at least seeing if they will allow the 4.5. How well does it sail 2up with a combined crew weight of 115kg but child growing each year. From the specs it looks like it should carry weight a lot better than the mari. We have a couple of 430s in the club but dont seem to perform that well with 2up crew. Any info is appreciated. spike
Bought one recently (normally sail a 5.8). Was really surprised how good they are, exceptionally responsive, turn remarkably well up wind and in the right conditions can match a 5.8 for speed off the wind. Highly recommend them. Also cost of ownership is low as they are well built, appeal to a wide market and have good resale value.
