just-me Posted May 16, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 16, 2006 the ppel island marathon is held at the Cleveland Yacht Club near Brisbane and has been held every year for quite some time. The last 2 marathons have been lacking wind and last year the majority of craft had to be towed home. This year as I look out of the window the breeze is blowing so... fingers crossed we will have a fantastic race. It is open to all types of craft from trailer sailors to sabres and a big fleet of CATS are always there. So if you are interrested in competeing in a race testing all your sailing skills this is the race for you. Depending on the Y/S of your craft you will be required to do 2 laps of the island.
