macca Posted June 13, 2006 Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 cold and no wind on Sat, drifted around for hours. very cold and windy on Sunday, had two races which were pretty good considering the forecast was for 40kts, only had 10-25 so it was ok. Second race the breeze kicked up a bit at the end. we broke a rudder pin so that ended our weekend. The lake is pretty gross and launching is crappy throught the mud and weed. might need to find an alternate location ofr the june long weekend.... maybe Gosford? or on the Harbour? berny Posted June 13, 2006 Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 Mad if we don't try Balmoral. I'm not sure if the club would be interested in running a regatta for us but it's a great place to sail. We were invited there last season and failed to take advantage of the offer. The facilities; large level grass rigging area, large easy sloping hard sand beach for launching, plenty of parking, alfresco restaurant strip, a v/nice clubhouse, etc etc etc. They are second to none. Emmessee has a contact there I think. If we could get a decent group together it might be worth approaching the club.
