robwib
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has ever setup a block and cleat for the jib on the windward side of a Cat? We sail a fairly old 5.8 and have had no end of trouble un-cleating the Jib from just about everywhere on the boat with it on the Leeward side.... especially while out on trapese. We've tried and adjusted it to every angle possible, tried a few different rope sizes but no luck. Any other ideas? Cheers Rob
Leadfoot
Some cobra's just have a ratchet pulley on the lee ward side and a cleat next to the side stay on the windward side. I have even seen the cleat integarted into the side stay. That might not work with a jib the size of a 5.
Leadfoot
Another trick I have done with my mainsheet blocks is to remove the spring from one side of the cleat. Therefore it does not grip the rope as hard and is easier to flick out
