Blackhawke
Just brought a new tramp from Windrush and will be fitting new toggles to back of rear beam to lace to (new rear beam). But wanting to know what's the best pattern opposite tramp hook or diagonal to tramp hook? Also any tips on tensioning rope?
Just One More
I use the diagonal method it allows the rope to be tightened better. To tighten just keep working the tension on the rope. Start from the beginining and pull the slack out as you work around the tramp.
knobblyoldjimbo
On my Maricat I use what I guess could be a carpet stitch. Up to the grommet, straight back then along to the next one, up and straight back. There's less distance and the pull is directly back and not at an angle. I then use a crowbar to get the tension right - that's the hard part but the tighter it is the stronger the platform.
JimB
Up to the grommet, straight back then along to the next one, up and straight back. Get that as tight as you can and tie it off. Then go back (can be with a separate rope) and pull the vertical lines together (see attached photo). It really tightens it up well, as you can get a lot of leverage. Park it in the sun on a hot day.... then tension it...... leave it for an hour.... Hose it down with cold water and let it dry and then get hot again..... re tension it again. Should come up as tight as a drum
