Notice of Race
Tanilba Bay Big Boat Regatta
1. Organizing Authority
Tanilba Bay Sailing Club - King Albert Ave, Tanilba Bay (opposite to the Tanilba Bay Public School)
2. Rules:
a. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the Prescriptions and Special Regulations of Yachting Australia Inc, the rules as defined in the Equipment Rules of Sailing, except if altered by this Notice of Race or the Sailing Instructions.
b. 1 race shall constitute a series
c. The Low Point scoring system shall apply. If 4 to 7 races are completed 1 drop race will apply. If 8 or more races are completed 2 drops will apply.
d. Rule 44.2 is changed so that the 720 deg turn is replaced by a 360 deg turn
3. Advertising
Boats may be required to display bow numbers and advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority
4. Venue and Regatta Site:
The regatta will be hosted by Tanilba Bay Sailing Club and sailed in the waters of the Weston end of Port Stephens in close proximity to TBSC.
5. Eligibility and Entry
a. The regatta is open to all off the beach catamarans over 16 feet in length
b. All boats shall carry public liability insurance to the value of at least AUD $10 million. All boats entered are deemed to carry this insurance and it’s the skippers’ responsibility to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
6. Fees:
The series entry fee is $80.00 (Sloop) & $70.00 (Cat Rigged), Entry fee includes Camping on Friday and Saturday night at the Club
7. Schedule of events:
Saturday 20th Feb
Sunday 21st Feb
 Registration - 8.30 – 10.30am
 Racing – Not before 10.30am (up to 4 back to back, not starts after 3pm
 Briefing - Not before 11am
 Presentation - to be held as soon as possible following the last race
 Racing – Not before 12.30pm (up to 4 back to back)
8. Sailing instructions will be available no later than the first day of registration.
9. Food:
 Breakfast and lunch meals will be available from the club on Saturday and Sunday.
 Saturday Night the club will host a BBQ for $20 per head, with your choice of a T-Bone, Rump or Chicken.
 The Club is also fully licensed for the event and a range of drinks will be available from the bar.
10. Disclaimer of Liability:
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
