darcy1945 Posted December 3, 2016 Report Share Posted December 3, 2016 On a cat rig, If you are running a slack rig (allowing mast rake upwind) this cleat can be used, with a line attached to the forestay, to stand the mast up for better downwind performance. I'm told that in Europe they use a heavy shock cord in place of the cord and cleat, this stands the mast up as soon as mainsheet tension in eased. Windrush 14s had a separate line for each of 2 forestays, hence 2 cleats out wide on their front beam. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
