micky
The 14th NQ Nacra Titles were held over the weekend at Mission Beach in conjuction witht he Mission Beach Annual Regatta and Round Dunk Island Marathon. The cat fleet all race together with separate results for the Nacra titles, over 65% of the fleet were Nacra's and 7 x 16sq attended as well as a 5.8 and a F18 Infusion. For the first time in many years strong breezes greeted the sailors and this allowed the 5.8 to show that it is still a very quick boat in strong competition. Dave Graham from Tinaroo Sailing Club on 5.8 #1590 won the regatta overall and the Nacra titles one point ahead of Mick Guinea on 16sq #333, a further one point back was Brendan Whaley from Bundaberg on 16sq #271. Nacra's placed 1,2,3,4 in the regatta overall. Special thanks to Greg and Brendan who made the trip from Bundy, and Ross Margetts who drove his bus and 16sq all the way from Brisbane, well done guys!!! Of the Nacra fleet at the regatta all bar one will be at the nationals, so expect a strong showing from Team NQ!
