how to drive 14 squared

Recommended Posts

I bought a 14squared the other day because it was cheap and boomless.

I thought I would just give it a go. I have sailed PTs and Windrushes for years and have a Tiapan 4.9 with wings project have had a Tiger Shark (18 foot PT) and am also running an old style Hydra 16.

Can you give me some leg up ideas on how to use the new boat to its full potential.

I can't get over the fact it could maybe do with less battens, a fat top and a boom... help.

your joking right????

theres a stick thing at the back whot ya steer wif,an theres a fat rope at the back wot ya pull tighter when ya wanna go upwind ,ya let the same rope off when ya wanna go down wind,,,then theres a skinny rope hanging off the bottom of the mast whot ya pull tighter as the wind increases!!!

It's a one design class ,,,you can't change the sail or add a boom ,,,If you want to go faster get a 16sq

lester,

the 14sq. is very different in rig to the cats you mention from NZ.

it is an excellent rig, much stronger mast, and does not need any extras,

there is a kite rig, complete, from the

manufacturer,(who also designed the 14sq,and many other catamarans)

contact the brisbame catamaran centre.

Thanks for taking the question seriously. The question is not really aimed at making the boat faster than it is. I am asking for hints on how the rig will work differently to the more coventional rigs I am used to. Any 14sq specific tips.
