farmboy
My brother and I have enjoying the thrills of a 5.8 for 18 months only problem is only sailing against tiapans at our club wondering if there might be any 5.8's left in victoria as I haven't seen to many most other clubs have f18 and as we don't have a kite is abit disconcerting doing well to the top mark then waving goodbye as they disappear into the distance. xmatelot
hi, read the tuning tips in the previous post, will give you a start point, and then you can improve from there. most of all, don't the give up the chase , if you can beat them to windward, you can beat them to the finish. pete
xmatelot
PS., do the other classes have kites? remember the VYC yardstick has adjustments for spinnaker and non spinnaker classes. how do you go on yardstick? pete
farmboy
the other classes do not but being tiapans cant catch them in the light as our 5.8 is fairly old and hardc pressed to got them to sail in heavy winds where do do alot better but they go out turn around and go straight back in. Might have to start sailing at other clubs just to find bigger fleet as ours is rather small. Have just printed the tunning tips to read andf give to my brother.
