NOTICE OF RACE

SPEERS POINT AMATEUR SAILING CLUB

ANNUAL REGATTA 2009

Entries are invited for the above regatta to be organised by Speers Point Amateur Sailing Club Inc.

Date of Regatta: 24-25 October 2009

Location: Speers Point Amateur Sailing Club, The Esplanade, Speers Point.

1. Rules. The regatta will be governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the

prescriptions and special regulations of the AYF, the rules of the individual classes (except

as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and the sailing instructions.

2. Advertising. The event is designated Category ‘C’ in accordance with ISAF Reg 20 of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009 – 2012.

1. Eligibility and Entry.

The regatta is open to all dinghy classes and off-the-beach catamarans.

Eligible boats may enter on the Entry Form available at the clubhouse on the day.

4. Entry Fee. A Regatta entry fee of $15 for Juniors (under 18 at 1 October) and $35 for Seniors (or $10 for Juniors and $20 for Seniors per day) is payable upon entering; for Nacra Super Series and F18 Traveller Series (NSS/F18) entrants $40.

5. Insurance: All competing boats must have a minimum of $10 million

Public Liability Insurance. Completion of the entry form is a declaration that boat has such insurance.

6. Schedule of Events.

Registration: Saturday 24 October 2008 9.30 am – 1.30 pm Clubhouse

Races are scheduled as below:

Heat 1 & NSS/F18 2 Saturday 24 October 2009 2.25 pm.

Heat 2 & NSS/F18 3 Sunday 25 October 2009 9.55 am

Heat 3 & NSS/F18 4 Sunday 25 October 2009 1.25 pm

6.1 There will be a competitors meeting at 12.00 noon on 24 October in the Clubhouse.

Note. The number of entries and the number of classes will determine how many starts are programmed.

7. Sailing Instructions. These will be available at registration.

8. Sailing Area. In the area known as Cockle Bay and Warners Bay, Lake Macquarie.

9. Courses. These may vary according to classes of boats and will be shown in the sailing instructions.

10. Scoring. The low point system of scoring shall be used according to rule A2.

11. Penalty. The 720 degree turns penalty shall apply.

12. Prizes. Prizes will be awarded as follows.

1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be awarded in each Class* or division.

* A minimum of six boats is required to enter to form a separate class.

13. Safety. Approved Personal Floatation Devices (buoyancy vests) shall be worn by all

competitors while racing.

14. Camping. There is a limit of 10 camping sites available at the Club on

Saturday night. Please notify the Club before the weekend.
