old soldiers never die ???

Recommended Posts

I'm checking out a few older sail numbers that are for sale.

It seems that the old hulls last well and are still competitive.

What kind of technical changes took place over the years.

Are all glass hulls made the same way , say from 0>100..??

How are they made .. gel coat outer and kevlar mat ??

Other than cracking on the rear beam bolt mounts .. what else happens ??

The yahoo list seems to be asleep .. I have applied to join but silence was the loud reply... not a good look.

HI tgh,

The older style boats are still very competitive in all classes.

Boats 0-180 are made in a three pice mould and boats 181 - curret are a two pice mould (joined along the center line).

The yahoo forum is very active but I don't know who looks after it , It took me a long time to get on as well I will try to fing out how you should contact.

Sam

  • 1 year later...

There is another subject post, heading just Taipan that has a bit of loose info on dates in regards to sail numbers etc.

I have registered twice for the yahoo site, i got a response to the first one, it was an automatic no cause no one had looked at it. I have tryed again and have heard anything again for about 3 weeks or so.
