dwl
Rudder Rake - Do you measure it same as with 5.0 (ie hold batton down the transom of boat and draw line on rudder)...and if so....what is standard measurement? coolj
30-40mm encroachment using straight edge on transom. Also, where are you running your rig ? do you know how to check it ? Guest dwl@ozemail.com.au
Thanks - Re Rig - Only what I've read - I measure with trapeze from the tang near foil and line up about 50-100mm aft of rear beam (about 100 in strong wind, say 50 in medium/light) Effectively I intend to have a fair bit of rake back in the mast in strong weather. coolj
Yeah that's close enuff to being right, in terms of checking yur rig. I go from centre of pin on foil tang, dependant on crew weight you should be running around the inspection port, perhaps a little in front of it. I run ours there and have no trouble with nosing in any more, once you have rig rake correct you can then set yur rudder rake so as to have a mostly "neutral" helm response although it should slowly start to bear up if you ditch the tiller. cheers matey
pitchpoledave
Can you explain how to check it? I assume that is raked forward...
