phil_taipan117
The proposed regatta in Darwin would be well worth the long trip (3,000 km from Adelaide). I sailed A Class and taipan there during the 80's and 90's. The weather in July is great, the water warm (no wet suits needed) and generally there is a reliable afternoon sea breeze (10 to 15 knots is about the limit). Ideal A class conditions. Its just the cost and time involved in getting there that is the killer. Phil.
REV YUKKA II
yeh we where keen to go this year, looks like fun. it is a bit of a trip, would be good if there could move Darwin a bit closer lol. but the time of year for me is the hard part not the distance. at 1st i was going as i thought it ran over a weekend, (brother was going to take boats up and i was going to fly). can't take a week off in july unfortantly. could of done it in june no worries. have fun up there REV
phil_taipan117
Looks like a good fleet of tornados raced in Darwin as part of "cat week". As could be expected, given the distance and cost, not much of a turn out from the other classes.
