usedcat
I have a prindle 15, which wasn't designed for a jib, but I would like to put one on. Is this likely to overstress the mast/hulls? What size a jib should i be looking for and what other parts do I need to do this myself? If anyone has a second hand jib which would be appropriate for sale, could they send me an email? Am also looking for a cheap spare wheel for the trailor and a cheap set of beach rollers. Thank you for your time Jamie
Geoff
Hi Jamie, All I can tell you is that there are a lot of Prindle sailors in South Africa, and I know for a fact some have added a jib to the 15. And used to race that way. maybe you could get info from one of their web sites/forums. Geoff.
Darryl J Barrett
I always thought that there was an "optional" jib kit for the Prindle 15'? There used to be two sailing two up with jibs here in South Australia in the early eighties, and both were bought new with the jibs already on. Darryl J Barrett
Mind you, a Prindle 15, cat rigged, sailed one up on trapeze, with a spinnaker instead of a jib would be a thrilling way to go.
