Dave
Glenn Ashby has convincingly won the 2006 A Class Catamaran World Championships, sailed at Vastervik, Sweden. Glenn won all of the first 8 races, then watched the final 9th race from a spectator boat, having already won the event. Second (on countback) was fellow Australian Scott Anderson. Third was Manuel Calavia (Spain), with Australian Andrew Landenberger in fourth. Other Australians were Steven Brewin (12th), Jack Benson (51st) and James Cole (58th). There were 82 boats from 16 countries in the fleet. The full list of results can be seen at http://www.opengate.se/vastervik/Content/a_cat_vm_frames.html Regards, Dave. berny
Great win by Ashby, how good is this bloke. Somehow Steve Brewin broke the start on the last two to go from something like fourth with two to go to 12th otherwise we'd have had four in the top ten. A great result regardless.
