Hi Guys,

Have the old green glass boat from Kanahooka - Dave knows which one.

Is anyone ready to dispose of a straight mast and rigging for same so I can get my son sailing this season?

A 2nd hand old mainsail would help too...

The rudder stocks are alum. but have no secure way of fixing the pivotting blade down blade down any help there would also be appreciated.

Dave S. or Lachy have you any leads for me?

please call David hm 443 9958 after 6 pm weekdays

G'day David,

Yes, I know the boat, 2379 I think.

I don't know of any masts at the moment, but will ask around. A number of the guys are on their way back from the Nationals at Hervey Bay, Qld, so may not be around for several days. I will also ask about sails.

The best bet with the rudders is to check out existing boats' systems and choose the one that best suits you. Most are using a rope pull-down system with an elastic pull-up, but there are also aluminium rod systems (used to both lower and raise the blade).

Older boats utilised pins through the rudder blade. It's easy to set up, but can be quite difficult to use.

Let me know if getting a look at existing boats is not practical.

Regards,

Dave.
