Gary P
Sorry Rodney , could not avoid it , although I think that those that attend the ACT would be different sailors to those that attend Speers Point.

Pointed Reply
8 x 14ft cats plus a big bunch of monos signed on for Speers point. The wind was light and a bit shifty but very pleasant weather and conditions. Excellent rigging parking launching and club facilities. The shifting breeze meant the lead changed a few times during the Saturday races. Pointed Reply (Mari) led for a while as did Angry Ant (Arrow), as did Racing Strips (Arrow) but Mojo (PT) was in front when it counted ! We sat in very pleasant sunshine on Sunday morning waiting for the breeze. We headed out in a building NE that was battling with a westerly. The divide was half way towards the wing mark. A reach to a work around the mark then back to a reach. On the last leg there were 4 boats abreast, Mojo reached the wind line first but Angry Ant won the race to the finish line.Overall results 1st Mojo, 2nd Pointed Reply, 3rd Angry Ant.The last time I sailed at Speers Point was on a Heron in 1974.....hopefully not such a big wait for the next sail.Shame about the clash with ACT but hopefully the calendar will work better next year.I look forward to my next sail at SPASC. knobblyoldjimbo
It's a nice place Rodney, Anzac day is always good, I gave Mick a memorable three quarter leg thrashing there one year, he was so annoyed that he went off and got new hips! korwich
Hey James, its true, you gotta remember the times that you are able to give Mick a flogging, they dont come around very often, but when they do we make good on them for years afterwards. PS Racing Strips was a PT or has Kimberly jumped ship to an Arrow.

Gary P
Thanks Rodney, the wind was a little unkind but we enjoyed some good racing. Glad that you had a good weekend.
