Pointed Reply
A foamie will weight at least 10 kg lighter but up to 20kg for the heaviest older boats. And yes noticeably lighter and easier to push around, A cat rigged foam boat weighs 95 kg ready to sail ( minimum weight for the class). Many of the glass boats will weight that just for the platform and rudders, excluding sail, mast and rigging. The glass boats platform only (not mast, sail or rigging) will weigh anything from 87 kg to 106 kg.But not all of that is due to the construction. Rob the Flower says there is about 6kgs of mould, algae and stuff stuck to and part of the styrofoam in the old hulls.
