tackless Posted May 5, 2009 Report Share Posted May 5, 2009 Thankyou to all those who competed in this years Peel Is Marathon. The weather was superb with winds SE 10-20kts. A total of 50 boats competed and I believe all had a wonderful time. We look forward to seeing you again next year at Cleveland Yacht Club for the 2010 Peel Is race. If you enjoyed your experience this year please tell other sailors so we can increase the numbers especially in the Mono and skiff divisions. Once again thankyou for making this years event a success and feel free to visit our club at any time throughout our sailing season. John Dowling Posted May 6, 2009 Report Share Posted May 6, 2009 Is it possible to put it on a different weekend. I would be keen to once again participate but you are competing with the biggest trailable yacht race in Australia on that weekend. That takes about 600 sailors out of the equation in South East Qld. And next year is the 30th running of the Bay to Bay so likely to attract even more. I'm sure the sports boats and trailer monoslugs would also be more likely to attend on another weekend.
