On its first visit to Qld the Capricorn was the winner after six races that could only be described as light with a little more breeze in the last race of each the day.

Six F18s, 5 x As, 4 x 5.7 a couple of 4.9s, and miscellaneous made up the 21 boats in Div 1.

The 5.7s all sailing without kites picked up a couple of line honours over the spinnaker F18s on the windward return courses.

Phil and Jenny on the 5.7 were second, Nev and Shames on the Tiger 3rd and Steve Moore 4th on his 5.7.

The regatta was well supported with a good fleet of Hobie 16s in Div 2 and a couple of Herons making up Div 4.

Over 40 boats supported with plenty of lucky sail prizes being awarded. The Capricorn travelled up from Sydney and a Hunter F18 travelling from Gladstone.

On a lighter note Russ McDonald and I did a boat swap on the last race. Symo and I got to put the Nacra F18 through its paces.

Russ after getting to the top mark with the lead couple of boats had no idea how to sail down wind without kite.

The Capricorn has been invited to join the 5.7s at future nationals, and on early performance we are going to have great racing.
