REV YUKKA II
can any body tell me what the sail number cut off is for the older boat comp for the 5.8 in the nationals. i understand that all the 5.8's race together but there is also a 2nd comp for the older boats that runs inside it. what must your sail number be under to be in that division. regards REV
cj
Don't quote me but i think the newer lighter nacra's started around the 1520's so if you are in the 1400's then you should be right unless the hulls have been replaced from damage reason's then i suppose that would be classed as a newer boat? Guest no name
you cant go of sail numbers after a wile. I anouther words i mean the sail numbers did not mean the year it was manufactured. There should be a series of numbers on the back of the hull witch may have the year of manufacture .Or ring the manufacrure up they should have records of dates boats were built. Surferjoe
Ten year old boats (for the NACRA 5.8) at the coming nationals in 2005 are all boats up to and including 1524. The numbers can be found on the original sail and also marked on the rear of the original hulls (it was in the mould when they were made). Cheers, Trevor
Emmessee
Rev, if you are sailing my old girl you will be more than in the old boat class. She was built in 1984 from memory. I sailed her all 84 and 85 around every trap there was that would let me.
Emmessee
On reflecting the wonderful Nacra 5.8 with the sail number 628 named Indulgence was raced in the first season that the 5.8's were competing as a class. We came third over-all and I think we won the travellers. Can't remember that far back. I was 15 years old. I am about to turn 36. Bugger
