rossco
Just wondering if there is any difference in weight between a 16 sq with a sail number of about 30 compared to one in the 200s?
scumbag#1
All 16 sq's from 50 onwards are lighter & from 143 even lighter again. Not sure about the latest ones though!
rossco
Ok read the "HYGROSCOPIC" stuff from the other posts. Are there MAJOR any design changes in the hulls, like the use of stringers etc? I had an old 5.0, now sold and am looking at an old 16sq, no funds for newer. So am wondering about the weight differences between the older and newer boats? Have read the relevant stats and the two boats seem similar in weight and size. Is this the case? catsailor.net
I sailed a 50 series boat in the states a few years ago and the boat was certainly very competative - Its the guy holding the black stick that makes the difference - Get a good start and you will easily negate any difference in boats

rossco
I don't want to seem rude but I realise that a boat's performance depends on the way it is sailed. All I wanted was some history and technical information about how the 16sq has developed over time, that's all.
