NACRAJON
Since I have got my new coloured NACRA sail I’m having a hard time seeing the leeward tell tale. I have tried a few different tell tales but in the grey bleakness of a Canberra winter there’s not enough light through the sail to read the tell tale. Thinking pretty seriously about getting Hobie style tell tale windows sewn into the sail. Is there a better way, will Hobie windows still be NACRA class legal? darcy1945
Settle for leach ribbons and wind indicator on your sloop rig, in anything but a drifter wind indicator should point forward of abeam, leech ribbons should flick into and out of sight regularly, if the top one is never visible you are oversheeted. Sail for speed always.
darcy1945
The wind indicator angle does not apply for cat rig 14s downwind in anything short of 15knots or greater.
Wolfman
You could try thick black tell tales, those may show up better. Leach ribbons will work for a main but you really need the tell tails positioned forward on a jib.
