best way to rig a righting rope/system

QB2

Recommended Posts

A line is rigged from the underside of the front beam, near a hull, and forms a V as it runs to near centre of the rear beam and then forward to the other junction of front beam and the opposite hull. At each end of the line it passes through a dead-eye and is tied to a handle.

At the apex of the V, just in front of the rear beam, the line passes through a sheave. The sheave is attached to shock cord. The shock cord passes through a sheave under the rear beam and forward to the dolphin striker.

This is on a Paper Tiger but should scale up OK to a other cats. Adjust the length of the line so that when a handle is pulled it comes out to a convenient length.

Cheers, v.
