mgman
need to replace the standing rigging on my recently acquired older Hobie. What is the most cost effective way. Do I order it made to measure or do I buy the wire , swages and swage tool and do it myself . I am located in Brisbane. Thanks.
Emmessee
Swage tools are not cheap and you can go to your boat shop and they will usually let you use their equipment if you know what you are doing. It is the cheapest way by far doing it yourself, but you have to get it right the first time. Your local club is also a good place to look as I am sure there will be someone there with the equipment you need to use as long as you have the raw materials. I am sure they would be more than happy to help you out. Buying them complete is a little more expensive, but you are pretty much guaranteed to get exactly what you want and need quickly and all you have to do is shackle it all together. I often buy it direct as I don't have the time to put it all together myself with a busy job and wanthing to spend my spare time on the water, not in the shed. ALl the best. mgman
Yes Matt looked around today and whilst the parts are relatively cheap it is the sagw tool that is the problem. Tomorrow I will ring around and get someone to make them for me. Thanks Gary
fantom
try the Brisbane Cat Centre at Wacol, Calypso Sailcraft at sandgate or order them from Sunstate Hobie .. they have a good ordering system.
