Guest citation
I have on OLD mari 4.8. Don't know much about the boat itself. Anyone with any history on this thing. A good boat all the same but could do with a jib. Again any hints on how to sloop rig?
ZAX
The Maricat 4.8 was always sailed cat rigged with a trap. I have never seen one sailed sloop rigged although I guess it would be possible. The Jib from a 4.3 should go ok on it. Or forget the jib and run a kite, should go well with that ! The last i had to do with them was when they were considering adding a sloop version. From these talks was born the Mari 5.0 . I posted a reply in the rigging tips section. My old man is hive of information about these boats. Email pierstreet@iprimus.com.au We have family Super 8 footage of the first maricat 4.3s in action circa 1976. not sure if there is any 4.8 film still surviving.
