johno
if you have the bridle lenght to short will it tend to pull the bows together. Has any one got any info von this ever happening?
ZAX
Johno, The length of the bridle wires for racing is 1010mm +- 1%, if shorter (or longer) than that, the class measurer may object. The shorter the bridle length the more the bows would want to pull together. That said, there is nothing to stop you using long shackles to make the bridle wire effectively longer if you are experiencing a problem with the bows pulling together too much. For tuning my preference is to have the jib as low as possible but if the hulls are pulling together too much I would still add shackles to the bridles. But since I sail cat rigged mostly... no probs on ZAX
