PP
GIO sold me a liability cover that did not cover racing, even though I told the lady that was why I needed it. They are now refunding the money but it left me unable to race Moggy (Hydra 16) until 2007 when I can find a policy I am willing to pay for and which is legal for racing. Is anyone here paying less than $150 for liability only? Who are you with?
HooD
Most of us are with the RAC. $50 excess and they cover everything, including your sailing watch! Have had a couple of claims, reasonably painless.

MikeDean
Hi - I paid $390 (premium $322, rest is GST and stamp duty = tax) for 1 years cover for boat, sails (2 sets) and trailer worth $7000. (which equals 5.5% of sum insured). Cover included racing, ashore, transit. Cover included $10M of liability. Insurer is CGU. I havent had to claim yet so cant comment on how good they are. Any comparos from others?
NacraPhelia628
I am covered for $8000 with $10m liability and it costs $213 per year. Claims are about $100 except masts which are $500 (better than $2000 or more). Contact Tudor Insurance Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne (which is a round-a-bout way to get to QBE Marine but cheaper) at their website http://www.tudorinsurance.com.au or call them on (03) 9707 3033. I don't think there are any cheaper insurers around. [This message has been edited by NacraPhelia628 (edited 09 January 2007).]
