windrush rudder setup?

Hi,

Can someone help me with pics or a description of how I should have the rudders setup on the windrush (surfcat14)?

At present the tiller bar between the rudders moves freely when the rudders are up in the horizontal position, but when locked down in the vertical (which is how I assume they should be for sailing) the tiller bar is down and will not move freely as it rubs against the top of the hulls.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

maybe the tiller arms are bent(down) ,

or the castings and bushes etc are worn, if your boat has the system withlift up arms,and roller bushes

Sean,

I will almost guarantee that the set of rollers in the rudder casting are badly worn. In the top of the casting where the aluminium arm joins it there are two rollers these will need replacing. This is a common problem with the rudder system. Once you have replaced the rollers the arms will sit higher but may still rub, once again no guarantees.
