dom
Can anybody please give me advice as to how to clean fiberglass hulls that have lost their shine and have dirt etc ingrained in them, is there anything to re-coat them with to give them a shine and protection. also with sails, have dirt and mold/algi on them. I have heard of omo and a scrubbing brush. Any advice please gladly taken.
korwich
Oxcilic acid is the best for removal of gunge from boat, sails fittings etc. Get it from the hardware, read the directions and wear the right gear to use it, it will remove the skin from your hands no probs, it is also a poison. Remember to hose the acid off well when finished. Cheers Phil
darcy1945
Wash the boat and sails with "30 seconds" outdoor cleaner available at hardware stores, then use the oxcalic acid to remove oxidised gel coat, polish immediatly or wipe over with Penatrol Marine to restore/seal gel coat.
